چکیده

S2 Table is incomplete. Please view the complete S2 Table here. There is an error in the third subsection of the Results section, entitled “sop1 specifically suppresses the splicing-defective pas2-1 allele”. The sentence “For this purpose, we introgressed sop1-5, a knock-out allele, that harbours a T-DNA insertion in the At5g21580 locus which encodes the SOP1 protein (see below), into the original pas2-1mutant as well as into pas1-2, pas2-4 and pas3-1mutants [16,21,22].” should read: “For this purpose, we introgressed sop1-5, a knock-out allele, that harbours a T-DNA insertion in the At1g21580 locus which encodes the SOP1 protein (see below), into the original pas2-1mutant as well as into pas1-2, pas2-4 and pas3-1mutants [16,21,22].”

The Zinc-Finger Protein SOP1 Is Required for a Subset of the Nuclear Exosome Functions in Arabidopsis

Correct gene expression requires tight RNA quality control both at transcriptional and post-transcriptional levels. Using a splicing-defective allele of PASTICCINO2 (PAS2), a gene essential for plant development, we isolated suppressor mutations modifying pas2-1 mRNA profiles and restoring wild-type growth. Three suppressor of pas2 (sop) mutations modified the degradation of mis-spliced pas2-1 ...

The Effect of 8-Weeks of Low-Intensity Swimming Training on Promyelocytic Leukemia Zinc Finger Protein and Spermatid Transition Nuclear Protein Gene Expression in Azoospermic Rats Model

Aims: One of the causes of infertility in men is the azoospermia disease, which is attributed to the lack of sperm in each sperm. The primary function of spermatogenesis is the maintenance, proliferation, and differentiation of spermatogonial cells. Thus, the present study aimed to investigate the changes in Promyelocytic Leukemia Zinc Finger (PLZF) and spermatid Transition Nuclear Protein (TNP...

Evaluation of the salivary Zinc Finger Protein 510 in Patients with oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) and Healthy Individuals as a new biomarker for diagnosis of OSCC in Early Stages

Aims: Oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) is the most frequent malignancy in the oral cavity. Early diagnosis of OSCC could provide on-time treatments and increase survival rate of patients. Recently, the level of salivary biomarkers has been studied as a mean for the early diagnosis of different cancers. This study assessed salivary zinc finger protein 510 in patients with OSCC and healthy ind...

Discrete domains mediate the light-responsive nuclear and cytoplasmic localization of Arabidopsis COP1.

The Arabidopsis CONSTITUTIVE PHOTOMORPHOGENIC1 (COP1) protein plays a critical role in the repression of photomorphogenesis during Arabidopsis seedling development. We investigated the control of COP1 partitioning between nucleus and cytoplasm, which has been implicated in the regulation of COP1 activity, by using fusion proteins between COP1 and beta-glucuronidase or the green fluorescent prot...

Nuclear Import and DNA Binding of the ZHD5 Transcription Factor Is Modulated by a Competitive Peptide Inhibitor in Arabidopsis*

Competitive inhibition of transcription factors by small proteins is an intriguing component of gene regulatory networks in both animals and plants. The small interfering proteins possess limited sequence homologies to specific transcription factors but lack one or more protein motifs required for transcription factor activities. They interfere with the activities of transcription factors, such...
